Gold in the Individual race, bronze in the Women Relay, silver in the Mass Start: Lisa Vittozzi was
the absolute protagonist of the fifth stage of the IBU World Cup, held in Ruhpolding (GER) from 11
to 15 January.
The Italian champion, who can count on the Fiocchi Munizioni Biathlon line (Exacta Winter, Official
Winter, and TT Winter) at the shooting range, climbed on the podium in all the scheduled races,
winning valuable points for the overall standing, where she is now in third position.
In the Individual race, Lisa was perfect: she didn’t make any mistake at the shooting range and she
was the fastest on skis, finishing first and climbing on the top of the podium, four years after the
last time in the IBU World Cup.
“I’m really proud of myself – she said, moved after the victory – this is the result of a great work in
the last months, when i found the best physical shape but above all my self-confidence”.
In the Women Relay, Italy won one more medal: the quartet made up of Samuela Comola, Lisa
Vittozzi, Rebecca Passler and Dorothea Wierer achieved the third place, behind Norway and
France.
In the last day of competition, Lisa Vittozzi climbed also on the Mass Start podium: the “azzurra”
led an outstanding performance one more time, with only one mistake at the shooting range, which
gave her the silver medal, the eighth of the season for her.
The international biathlon spotlights move now on Anterselva (ITA), where the sixth stage of the
IBU WC will be celebrated from 19 to 22 January. Come on “azzurri”, come on Fiocchi Team!
