ONE BRONZE MEDAL AND A LOT OF COLD: THE WORLD CUP IS SHORTHANDED IN CANMORE

A reduced IBU World Cup went down in Canmore (CAN), where icy temperatures forced the International Biathlon Federation into canceling the two sprint races scheduled for Saturday 9th.

Therefore, only four events were contested: two short individuals – where Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi climbed on the 3rd step of the podium, and Dominik Windisch finished in 5th position – and two relays: in the 4×7,5 km, the quartet composed by Windisch, Thomas Bormolini, Thierry Chenal and Lukas Hofer closed the race in 8th place. The women’s relay, instead, stopped at the feet of the podium, taking 4th place with Lisa Vittozzi, Nicole Gontier, Dorothea Wierer e Federica Sanfilippo.

The IBU World Cup 2018/2019 will continue in Soldier Hollow (USA), where six more races are programmed between February 14th and February 17th.
